This class is for students who have done the Level 2 class. If you have an equivalent GCSE level grade A or B, you will easily cope with this level. We will start reading stories from Easy readers. The first 6 weeks will be revising the previous year’s programme. We will be covering more tenses and revision. Students will be conversing with more ease. We will be working from simple texts concerning culture, history, etiquette, and French life. We will also study "Meurtre dans un jardin francais" (Francais facile), other easy readers books and later on Bussi short stories.
In this class, you will no longer use a book and be working from texts concerning French culture. This year, we will be covering all aspects of Paris, history, geography, food, places to visit and much more. This level would suit someone with O’ Level, AS level or a good level of French. You will be expected to keep up to date with news and current affairs. More topics will also be covered. The class is conducted in French. We will still cover more challenging grammar points, interpret conversations, and increase vocabulary. We are studying “la femme du Boulanger” from Pagnol on Thursday and “La vie secrete des ecrivains” by Musso on Wednesday evening. You would be expected to read about 10 pages a week. We can watch French films and I am organising regular French quiz nights.
